Mock Rock is a night of air guitar, lip syncing, and dance routines put on by Mr. Rankins class for the grade 6 classes at Ecole Lacombe Upper Elementary School. Even the teachers got involved with a special performance to end the night.
Strand Media is proud to say they donated to this great cause. Mock Rock was able to collect 685 lbs. of food and $180 in cash to donate to The Lacombe and District Food Bank. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank you so much for our card!
Strand Media prides itself on being an active part of the Central Alberta community. We love supporting causes and organizations that matter to us, our clients, employees and communities. With donations, sponsorship's and employees volunteering for various causes we hope to make a difference.
Here are some of the past sponsorship's that Strand Media has been a part of and the Thank You's we've received.
Mock Rock 2016:
Thank you very much for sponsoring our 10th anniversary of Mock Rock. The 2016 version of Mock Rock was better than ever. Rankin's Red Hot Chili peppers enjoyed putting together this service learning project. We collected 650 pounds of food donations and $200 cash for the Lacombe and District Food Bank. Without your sponsorship, the evening would not have been possible. We placed your business name in our Mock Rock Program, Mock Rock PowerPoint, school newsletter, school Facebook account, school Twitter account and school website as a small thank you for your participation. Thanks again!

Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Prairies/NWT Region:
On behalf of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Prairies/NWT Region, thank you for your generous banner sponsorship in support of the 2nd annual Batting Against Breast Cancer Event on July 11th, 2015. The event was a great success raising over $15,000! We Greatly appreciate your support and thank you for helping us create a future without breast cancer.
Blaine Calkins - M.P. for Red Deer-Lacombe:
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your contribution to the recent donation drive to support our friends and family who were affected by the devastating fires in Fort McMurray. I appreciate greatly that you were able to accommodate our request for signage on such short notice.
The donation drive brought more than 8,000 lbs of much-needed items to evacuees in Lac la Biche and Boyle, Alberta.
While the wildfire continues to burn, the City of Fort McMurray is, for now, safe from the threat of fire. The Effort to secure the city and make it possible for residents to return home is underway and we will rebuild this city together.

The Town of Ponoka has begun a Downtown revitalization planning project and they contacted Strand Media to assist with putting the pieces together for the branding and identity on this major project.
Of course any project of this magnitude starts with a logo design. The planning committee wanted something modern and timeless with an abstract look so no one would be confused about how the downtown revitalization was going to look. After working together to tweak one design concept, then the next, we arrived at a finalized design.
Now a logo is just a logo and always needs something to be put on. The next step to this branding project was to create feature ads of various business owners in the downtown area to help promote the new project. These ads are going to be shown across different media’s including emails, Facebook banners, posters and of course their website along with other venues.
One last thing needed to be created for the completion of this first stage. We may have given a small hint in the last paragraph... No project of this magnitude is complete without a well-designed, user and mobile friendly website for people to learn and follow the latest news. The website needed to be modern and tie in with the design and colors of the logo.
The website can be viewed at www.downtownponoka.ca and they would love you to visit it so they can hear your thoughts and ideas on the downtown revitalization. Get information on attending their public open houses on March 8 & 9, located at the Ponoka Kinsmen Community Center, and be sure to fill out their online community survey and be entered to win a weekly prize draw.
