Perhaps one of the most common sign materials, where some degree of rigidity is required, are composite aluminum signs. This substrate is lightweight and is 2 pre-painted (baked enamel) sheets of aluminum sandwiching a solid polyethylene core. These can be straight or custom cut and can also be made into three-dimensional shaped signs. These can be used either indoors or in an outside environment with long lasting properties. Graphics can be directly printed onto the panel or a pre-printed vinyl substrate can be adhered to the panel.
